Scholarships and Discounts



Note:

No student may combine two or more scholarships at the same time. However, the university allows an exception in cases of academic excellence during study.

Scholarships do not include the summer semester. The Ministry of Higher Education scholarships remain the only exception.

Granting a high school diploma:

The university offers scholarships to new students according to the following criteria:

  • The university awards a full scholarship to students whose rank is among the top five in the Syrian General Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.

  • The university grants five scholarships, each covering 50% of credit hour fees, to students who achieved an average of 90% or more in the Syrian General Secondary School. The university selects recipients according to their ranking and confirmed registration.

The student keeps the scholarship if he maintains a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B).


Scholarships of the Ministry of Higher Education:

The university allocates full scholarships to the Ministry of Higher Education in accordance with the decree that established the university.

Applicants must achieve an average that meets or exceeds the minimum admission requirement for the intended major.


Academic excellence awards:

The university grants scholarships to students who demonstrate academic excellence.

To qualify, the student must complete at least 30 credit hours and register a minimum of 15 credit hours, except during the graduation semester, in accordance with the bachelor’s degree regulations.

The university awards scholarships as follows:

  • 100% of credit hour fees to a student who achieves a cumulative GPA of 4.0 (A+) and ranks first in the major, provided the GPA remains at least 4.0.

  • 25% of credit hour fees to students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 (A).

  • 20% of credit hour fees to students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 (A-).

  • 15% of credit hour fees to students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 (B+).

  • 10% of credit hour fees to students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (B).

The student retains the scholarship as long as he fulfills these conditions. The university applies it only to the first and second semesters.


Scholarships for full brothers:

The university grants siblings a 15% discount on credit hour fees each semester for both accepted and registered students. The university continues the scholarship even if one sibling graduates.


Scholarships for children of university employees:

The university grants a 50% tuition fee scholarship to children of university employees.


Sports and Cultural Excellence Scholarship:

The university awards five scholarships each semester, covering 20% of tuition fees, to students who excel in mathematics. It also grants five scholarships of 20% to students who demonstrate cultural excellence, according to criteria set by the University Council.


Scholarship for children of Syrian trade union members:

The university grants children of Syrian trade union members a 10% discount on credit hour fees.

Comments:

It is not permissible for any student to combine at the same time two or more scholarships of the aforementioned, except in cases of academic excellence during his studies at the university.on top scholarship.

The scholarship is withheld from any student if one of the penalties mentioned in paragraphs (c, d, e) of Article Three of the Examination Penalty System and one of the penalties (7-11) of Article Two of the Disciplinary System at the International University for Science and Technology is imposed on him.
