The IUST established the Social Guidance Office on the 9^th of December, 2023 affiliated with the Students Affairs Department. It aims at providing guidance services to students and teaching and administrative staff.

Vision of the Office

Social guidance is considered a basic pillar of the educational process and aims at helping individuals in terms of the social, psychological and educational aspects in a way that makes them able to understand the personalities and activate their own potential in a way that achieves psychological, social, educational and professional compatibility.

Mission of the Office

Providing services to all persons who face educational, emotional, behavioral, social and psychological problems and utilizing their actual potential.

Tasks of the Office

The Office provides the following services:

• Avoiding the exam phobia
• Providing educational services regarding study output and psychological harmony
• Insuring psychological compatibility with the study topics in the students’ new department
• Avoiding psychological problems that may result from negative thinking
• Insuring the mechanism of adopting positive thinking in solving personal, educational, social and psychological problems.
• Possessing the win-win strategy
• Guiding students how to deal with psychological, educational and social problems
• Guiding students how to set goals and the way of achieving them
• Guiding students to insure time-management and the way of utilizing time
• Guiding students how to develop an action plan from the very beginning of the academic year
• Guiding students to develop the self-care strategy
• Interviewing students, individuals and groups, with a view to helping them solve their problems
• Consolidating the values of love, peace and tolerance amongst students
