Health Center

Public health is an essential part of the lives of students and the academic community in universities.

To achieve this goal, the Health Center was established at the International University for Science and Technology to be a beacon of health care that supports the needs of students, staff and faculty.

 Center Vision

The center’s vision is to create a healthy and sustainable university environment for all members of the university community. The center seeks to be a role model in providing health care, preventive services and health education.

Center Objectives

• Providing high-quality health care services that include routine medical examinations, treatment of acute and emergency diseases and providing health advice. This is achieved through a qualified medical team.
• Working to promote health awareness among students and staff.
• Supporting mental health for its role in improving academic performance and daily life. Therefore, the center provides psychological counseling services in addition to stress and anxiety management programs.
• Providing emergency services by having a unit equipped to deal with emergency cases immediately and effectively, ensuring the safety of students and staff.

Center Departments

• Emergency room containing:
• 2 medical beds.
• Monitor with electric shock for serious cases.
• Oxygen cylinders.
• Laryngoscope with tracheal intubation tubes in case of necessity.
• Suction device (secretions extraction).
• Special chair for transporting patients.
• Nursing and medical examination room including:
• Medical bed.
• Tool cart containing minor surgery boxes.
• Gauze bandages and sterilizers.
• Blood pressure and oxygen measuring devices, and a blood sugar measuring device.
• Pharmacy: contains the necessary emergency medications.
• Dental clinic: for the teaching staff, fully recruited.
• Psychological and social counseling office.
• Office of the head of the health center.
• Ambulance equipped to transport patients in case of necessity.

Health center staff:

• Center doctor, general surgery and emergency specialist.
• Psychotherapist.
• Psychological and social counseling specialist.
• Experienced intensive care nurse.
• Operations and ambulance nurse.
• Administrative employee to document the center’s work and data related to visitors.
