Dr. Mohammad Shaaban, a faculty member at the Faculty of Architecture, participated as a representative of the university in the activities of the “Sustainable Development Week” organized by Al-Qalamoon Private University.
During his participation, Dr. Shaaban delivered a scientific lecture entitled:
“Digital Transformation and Digitization of Buildings in Syria: Challenges and Opportunities.”

An introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its importance in developing the construction sector.
The concept of Digital Transformation and its role in modernizing infrastructure.
The Digital Twin (DT), including its types and classifications.
The relationship between Digital Twinning and Facilities Management in improving operational and maintenance efficiency.
Key challenges and opportunities associated with implementing digital technologies in the Syrian context.
Practical applications, with a focus on digital twins for healthcare buildings as a case study.
The lecture contributed significantly to the scientific discussions within the event and helped highlight the future prospects of digital transformation in the architecture and engineering sectors in Syria.
