The International Private University of Science and Technology hosts the Brazilian student “Larisa Franklin” under a student exchange grant to Syria
In cooperation between the Deanship of Student Affairs at the International University of Science and Technology and the National Committee for Student Exchange in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under a student exchange grant to Syria, the International University for Science and Technology hosted the Brazilian student “Larissa Franklin”, who obtained a degree in biotechnology from the Federal University of Goiás. She is currently working on completing her research to obtain a master’s degree in cellular biology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
The student toured the university laboratories and exchanged information with the students. In the lecture, she talked about her master’s research, which dealt with the topic of diet and diabetes, where low-carb diets were applied to groups of diabetic and obese patients, and their response to treatment was measured, their weight decreased, and other vital parameters related to diabetes. Then she answered questions And the inquiries of students and professors, in the end, she spoke about her mother country, Brazil, and her impression of her visit to Syria.
In turn, Prof. Dr. Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Lama Youssef, welcomed the guest and thanked the Deanship of Student Affairs represented by Dr. Fawaz Mofdi for all their efforts in hosting the Brazilian student. She also thanked the College of Pharmacy staff who accompanied her on introductory and tourist visits in Syria.
