During the last academic year..Treatment services for 10099 patients at the College of Dentistry
The College of Dentistry reinforces the role of the International University for Science and Technology in serving the community through the health services it provides in its clinics, where it receives daily dozens of patients from neighboring areas and provides them with oral and dental health care services free of charge and in an optimal manner, noting that these clinics include all specialties and are equipped with the latest modern medical devices and materials necessary for work.
The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Salem Rakab, pointed out that during the past year, the college clinics received about 10099 patients and provided them with the necessary health and treatment services, in addition to the completion of many scientific researches and specific clinical cases by the college students, which were published in international peer-reviewed journals.
Community services
Regarding the professional procedures for the work of the clinics, Prof. Rakab explained that patients are received in the reception hall designated for their rest in the college lobby, and then they go to the diagnostic clinic of the Department of Oral Medicine to conduct clinical examinations for them, where all necessary treatments are written in the diagnostic card for each of them, and then the cases are sent to specialized clinics, where patients are distributed among the students of the clinical stage in the presence of supervising doctors to accomplish everything required for their oral health in an optimal manner, which enhances the role of the university in serving the community.
Enhancing students’ skills
Prof. Dr.Rakab continues: We at the Deanship of the College always strive, with the full support of the University Presidency, to provide our students, future doctors, with all that is new in the various specialties of dentistry through scientific days, training courses and extracurricular lectures to be the best ambassadors for their college and university and to encourage them to keep pace with scientific research and external publication that raises the level of the university as a ranking within the international rankings.
Opening the Master’s Degree
The Dean of the College pointed to the opening of the Master’s degree in the field of endodontics and root canal therapy, which will be announced soon to receive doctors for specialization, stressing the college’s constant endeavor to develop and modernize its laboratories and clinics with the support of the university administration. In this context, the college secured a new digital digital radiology device in the endodontic clinic last year and a panoramic cone-beam computed tomography device, while ensuring regular maintenance of all devices.

The following are the therapeutic works completed in the clinics of the various departments and specialties by students during the last academic year 2023/2024, where the total number of cases amounted to about 10099 cases distributed as follows:
-Dental clinic: The total number of cases amounted to 3282 cases (2102 endodontic treatments and 1180 operative treatments).
-Pediatric clinic. Pediatric clinic: 811 cases (clinical diagnosis, treatments, extractions, space maintainers, metal crowns, application of fluorine to the child’s teeth to prevent cavities).
-Pediatric Clinic Prosthodontics Clinic: 2033 cases (partial restorations 100, full restorations 225, crowns and bridges 1286, rehabilitation 422)
-Dental Clinic Oral Medicine Clinic: 499 cases
-Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic: 2110 surgical cases (normal extractions: 1450, surgical extractions 600 (decayed roots, impacted teeth, impacted teeth), and quality operations 60 cases (cysts, amputations, grafts, dental implants, healthy soft tissue tumors).
-Peri-Dental Histopathology Clinic: 1364 cases (1351 cases of tooth reduction, 13 cases of gum surgery).
