The rhombus is the ornamental element of the Damascus cart, for that, the old Damascus rug was chosen with geometrical rhomboidal ornaments to match the idea of the project. The howdah was chosen because it carries important personalities and is used for special occasions, so in this case, we can draw attention to the fact that the sold product is a special thing. Also the company publishes changeable menus according to the season; for example in the winter season they sell beans, lupine, beet, corn and chestnuts.
A Graduation project by Abdul Aziz Al-Zar’a, supervised by Dr. Samir Abu Zeina, the site was chosen in Al-Tall city on Damascus-Aleppo highway passing through Al-Tall city, the goal is to create a renewed spirit in the area linking the old constructional character of the town with the modern construction style, the climate is cool during the summer and with beautiful sights around. The project aims to organize a commercial area with an original and contemporary spirit and to find interior spaces where shops and showrooms for companies are distributed in different sizes, and all the commercial center requirements in the city and in the nearby would be done by providing a vital touristic core that provides some touristic and commercial services. We chose this project because of the urgent need to organize the area and re-invest it as a touristic area near Damascus, also to provide new services, relatively, close to the city but away from the noise and pollution of life and to provide a residential area where tourists or summer vacationists may choose to spend a short stay.
