The College of Dentistry Organizes an Advanced Training Course in Microscopic Endodontics

As part of its efforts to enhance students’ practical skills and connect academic knowledge with practical experience, the College of Dentistry at the International University for Science and Technology (IUST) organized a specialized training course in Microscopic Endodontics in cooperation with Anas Dental Clinic. Approximately 35 fifth-year students participated in the course.

The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Mohammed Salem Rakab, emphasized that this course—held for the fourth time—focuses on the practical aspect. Each student completes a complete endodontic treatment under the microscope assigned to him in the course, using natural teeth, under the supervision of specialist endodontic doctors. He noted that at the end of the course, participants receive a certificate accredited by the Deanship of the College and the University, which can be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This certificate is of great value to students as a certificate of experience useful for work in the Gulf countries.

For his part, Dr. Bilal Al-Kurdi, Scientific Director of Anas Dental College, explained that this course is the first of its kind among Syrian private universities. It is being hosted by the International University of Syria (IUST) for the fourth consecutive year, making it the second Syrian university after Damascus University to organize such an advanced activity. He emphasized its importance in enhancing students’ practical experience through direct practice with the latest technologies and microscopes, combining theory and practice under the supervision of specialized trainers, some of whom are university graduates and supervisors. He also emphasized the importance of opening new horizons for students and graduates in the job market, especially with the international recognition of the certificate. This course is part of the College of Dentistry‘s annual series of scientific activities aimed at developing students’ skills and keeping pace with global developments in the field of dentistry. This reflects the university’s active role in serving the community and graduating qualified medical personnel.
