  • The International University for Science and Technology Enhances its Community Role by Providing Free Medical Services in Dental Clinics

As part of its commitment to social responsibility and enhancing cooperation with local community institutions, the dental clinics at the International University for Science and Technology received approximately 50 patients of various age groups (with the possibility of increasing the number) from the Al-Birr Wal-Ataa Charitable Association in the Damascus countryside, Aqraba area. The association selected the university due to its distinguished academic and professional reputation for providing high-quality therapeutic and diagnostic services.

Under the direct guidance of the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Mohammad Salem Rakab, the patients underwent thorough examinations supervised by a group of supervising professors and doctors. Cases were then referred, as needed, to specialized clinics, which included:
Pediatric Dentistry, Conservative Clinics, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Tooth Extractions, and Periodontics.

Patients expressed their satisfaction with the services provided, with patient H.H. emphasizing the professionalism and exceptional care she received during her treatment, which included tooth cleaning, periodontal treatment, and follow-up in the Prosthodontics Department. Another patient indicated that she is currently undergoing dental bridges in the prosthetics department after suffering from missing teeth and a molar extraction.

Through this initiative, the university affirms its pioneering role in serving the community. It opens its clinics free of charge to patients from neighboring and remote areas, seeking to alleviate the health burden on families with limited support and foster a culture of giving and cooperation between academic institutions and charitable organizations.

These efforts reflect the university’s vision of achieving integration between distinguished medical education and effective community service, benefiting the entire community.
