Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the International University of Science and Technology participates in the 80th World Health Organization (WHO) Consultation Meeting in Geneva

Habib Abboud, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, representing the International Private University for Science and Technology, participated in the 80th World Health Organization (WHO) consultative meeting on the quality and scientific nomenclature of medicines, which was held at the WHO headquarters in Geneva from March 15 to 22, 2025.
Participation Highlights
Dr. Abboud presented a lecture at the International School of Pharmaceutical Names (ISPN) meeting in which he highlighted
* The activities of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the International Private University for Science and Technology during the past year, which included specialized workshops and graduation projects for pharmacy students. * Coordination and review of teaching programs and curriculum vocabulary in the fields of industry, pharmaceutical control, drug effect and microbiology. *Presentation of the methods used to train students to use the School of Scientific Names of Drugs (in Arabic), which includes lectures on the classification of drugs according to the unique code system in the classification of anatomical therapeutic chemicals. *The mechanism of naming pharmaceutical substances through the Wenzel program, which is an abbreviation of the World Health Organization program for international names for medicines that belong to humanity and are not allowed to be protected by private pharmaceutical companies based on the chemical structure, pharmacological classification and the source of the pharmaceutical substance, which is based on the chemical structure, pharmacological classification and the source of the pharmaceutical substance.
Global Student Achievement
A group of students from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the International University of Science and Technology participated in the scientific poster competition for the hostel school under the title: Under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Habib Abboud, they achieved three prizes for the best scientific posters, namely
No. 44 for student Asmaa Nizar Hamad Nasr No. 111 11 for student Mohammed Bassamak 03 No. 1 for the student Judy Abdul Razzaq Al-Homsi, in partnership with the student Mohammed Mahmoud Kalkoush.
The winners received certificates of appreciation signed by the Director of the Scientific Names of Medicines Program at the World Health Organization (WHO) Rafila Balukuraviya Balukuraviya and symbolic gifts for the first three prizes, and the rest of the posters from the Private University for Science and Technology were awarded certificates of appreciation for each participant.

Dr. Habib Abboud, in a statement, stressed that this participation reflects the academic excellence of all pharmacy and its students, pointing out that such events contribute to enhancing the university’s status and confirm its commitment to preparing qualified pharmaceutical cadres according to the highest international standards
