A scientific day at the Faculty of Dentistry on mastering computerized intraosseous anesthesia to achieve pain-free dental care.
Under the patronage and in the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Ammar Nasser Agha, the Faculty of Dentistry organized a scientific day titled “New Innovations in Pediatric Dentistry: Mastering Computerized Intraosseous Anesthesia to Achieve Pain-Free Dental Care.” The event was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Wa’d Omran, along with a gathering of faculty members and students in the college auditorium.
In his opening speech, University President Prof. Dr. Ammar Nasser Agha expressed his thanks and appreciation to the college administration for their distinguished efforts in scientific research, external publishing, organizing diverse scientific activities, and providing treatment and care to patients in its clinics.
Prof. Dr. Nasser Agha noted that the Faculty of Dentistry at the International University has graduated 15 cohorts of dentists from 2010 to the present. He emphasized the university’s commitment to providing all forms of support to its students and creating a suitable environment to help them excel and succeed.
In a statement to the university’s website, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Salem Rakkab, confirmed the college’s ongoing and continuous dedication to organizing scientific and academic activities aimed at enhancing students’ skills and keeping them updated on the latest devices, technologies, and knowledge in the field of dentistry. This contributes to raising their scientific level and professional competence. He highlighted the distinction of this scientific day as it introduces a new topic in pediatric dentistry, presented by one of the college’s outstanding graduates. He also revealed the college’s plan to organize courses in the fields of endodontics and microscopic dentistry.
For his part, the Scientific Vice Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Prof. Dr. Os Dnan, affirmed the college’s pursuit of excellence by activating scientific days, conferences, and extracurricular scientific lectures for students to achieve the greatest possible benefit at the cognitive level. He noted the interactive atmosphere between students and the lecturer, as well as the practical segment that enriched the overall content of the lectures with useful and new information.
The lecturer, Dr. Moaz Mohammed Jamal Al-Kholi, explained that the scientific day included theoretical and practical aspects. The first lecture focused on local anesthesia in children, with a comprehensive review, new projections, and recent studies in this field. The second lecture addressed intraosseous anesthesia, its beginnings, and its evolution up to the computerized version. The third lecture featured photos and videos demonstrating how to use this device, along with its advantages and disadvantages.
Dr. Al-Kholi expressed his pride and honor in being present at his alma mater, where he now returns as a lecturer to present a new scientific topic introduced for the first time as a lecture in Syrian universities. This topic is part of the research for which he earned his Ph.D. from Damascus University. He offered advice to dental students, emphasizing the necessity of closely following everything new in the world of dentistry, which is witnessing rapid global development.
