A Scientific Trip for Pharmacy Students to Ibn Zuhr Pharmaceutical Industries

The Faculty of Pharmacy organized a scientific trip for its students to Ibn Zuhr Pharmaceutical Industries, a leading laboratory in the pharmaceutical industry, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Basil Hussein and Dr. Wafaa Qudsi.

The visit included a tour of the laboratory’s production departments, where students learned about the stages of pharmaceutical manufacturing, the mechanisms for implementing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and the quality controls at various stages of production.

The visit also included an introduction to the work processes and automated analysis methods used in the pharmaceutical control laboratories, as well as an overview of the work in the analytical and manufacturing research and development laboratories, and their role in developing pharmaceutical products and improving their quality.

The visit concluded with a tour of the water treatment plant and the laboratory’s various warehouses, observing how good storage practices are implemented. The university, represented by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, extends its thanks and appreciation to the management of Ibn Zuhr Laboratory, represented by the General Manager, the Technical Manager, and the Quality Assurance Manager, for the warm welcome and for the scientific information and expertise they provided, which contributed to enriching the practical and cognitive aspects of the students.
