A New Step in the Programming Competition: The Guests Team Reaches the National Finals SCPC2026
The International University for Science and Technology, represented by its Faculty of Information and Communication Engineering, participated in the 2026 Syrian Private Universities Programming Competition (SYPUSCPC), hosted by Al-Sham Private University. The competition, which took place on August 21-22, 2026, featured student teams from various Syrian private universities.
The Faculty participated with two teams:
First: Checkmate, comprised of students Zaid Shbeeb, Mohammad Aqbiq, and Roni Salloum.
Second: Guests, comprised of students Moataz Shaaban, Yassin Al-Harastani, and Massa Al-Harsh.
Under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad Hayyan Al-Saba’i, the two teams competed, and the Guests team qualified for the national finals of the 16th Syrian Collegiate Programming Contest (SCPC 2026). The competition concluded with a ceremony where the results were announced and the winning teams were honored. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ghaith Warqouzq, Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Huwaish, Director of the Directorates of Private Educational Institutions, and a number of presidents of private universities and professors.
The university extends its gratitude to our students in the Checkmate and Guests teams for their efforts and participation, and wishes the Guests team success in the national finals. The university also thanks Al-Sham Private University for hosting and organizing this competition.
