International University for Science and Technology Achieves Significant Progress in the 2026 Spanish Transparency Ranking

The International University for Science and Technology (IUST) has achieved remarkable progress in the latest edition of the Spanish Transparency Ranking, which, in its updated methodology, introduced two new indicators: publications ranked among the world’s top 1% scientific papers and the Excellence indicator, further strengthening the assessment of research performance across academic institutions.
IUST ranked fifth nationally among universities and research institutions in the Syrian Arab Republic, second among Syrian private universities, and 7,630th globally, advancing by more than 3,000 positions compared with the previous edition.
In terms of research performance, the University recorded seven scientific publications ranked among the top 1% of scientific papers worldwide, in addition to 35 publications under the Excellence indicator, marking its highest achievement to date in this research metric.
This accomplishment reflects IUST’s continued commitment to strengthening its research profile and reinforcing its position among academic institutions at both the national and international levels through supporting scientific research and promoting publication in leading international scientific journals.
