Practical Applications Bridging Academic Knowledge with the Workplace

In a space that blends theory and practice, the College of Business Administration and Finance organized a practical session titled “Practical Applications in Project Management and Entrepreneurship.” The session, which saw wide participation from faculty and students, underscored the college’s commitment to fostering integration between academic studies and the demands of the job market.

The session, led by Dr. Dana Al-Kuwaifi, showcased the application of the 5S system within a real industrial facility in the plastics sector. The project was analyzed according to PMP project management principles, demonstrating how theoretical knowledge can be translated into measurable and scalable operational practices.

The session addressed several key areas, including planning and execution in operational projects, time, resource, and risk management within the work environment, and practical challenges. Emphasis was placed on the importance of teamwork, organization, effective communication, and decision-making.

The session also featured outstanding participation from students of the Startup Weekend event, who shared their practical experiences and how academic concepts helped them apply their knowledge in real-world work environments based on innovation, teamwork, and decision-making.
