Dr. Habib Abboud, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the International University for Science and Technology, participated in the 82nd meeting of the International Nonproprietary Names (INN) Programme of the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as in the meeting of the INN School and leading centres, held on April 22, 2026, at the WHO headquarters in Geneva.
During the meetings, Dr. Abboud delivered a lecture on the activities of the INN School’s leading centre for nonproprietary drug names. He also took part in a poster competition aimed at promoting the learning of scientific drug names and highlighting their importance, applications, and benefits.
This year’s competition featured around 21 posters prepared by pharmacy students at the university. The contributions achieved outstanding results, including one first-place award, five second-place awards, two third-place awards, and 13 certificates of appreciation.
The participation received positive feedback from attendees, with the WHO representative praising the distinguished efforts as a model for other leading centres worldwide.
