The Faculty of Pharmacy Participates in the Bethlehem Festival and Engages in Leadership in Health Professions Education
The Faculty of Pharmacy, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Habib Abboud, and Dr. Bissan Ahmad, participated in a specialized workshop entitled “Capacity Building in Sharing and Leadership in Health Professions Education.” The workshop, organized by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the World Health Organization, took place from February 10-12, 2026, with the aim of developing the health and academic landscape in the Syrian Arab Republic.
Over three days, the workshop focused on key topics, including: the concepts and principles of the system in medical education within the complex environment of the national system in Syria (opportunities and challenges); investment in the health workforce; study ideas, global goals, and local solutions for all health professions in medical colleges and the Ministry of Health (the Syrian experience); and other accreditation systems related to the quality of health education.
The workshop also addressed the following: To build the contribution of the Faculty of Pharmacy in this workshop, it is important to emphasize its constant commitment to keeping up with the latest developments in the field of pharmacy and medical education, and to fulfilling its academic role in developing the health system, in line with the vision of preparing qualified pharmaceutical personnel capable of meeting the health needs of society and contributing to the development of the health sector in Syria.
