Memorandum of Cooperation between the International University for Science and Technology and the Syrian Engineers Syndicate to Enhance Academic and Professional Partnerships

As part of its efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships with the public and private sectors, the International University for Science and Technology signed a memorandum of scientific and academic cooperation with the Syrian Engineers Syndicate.

The memorandum was signed by the University President, Professor Dr. Ammar Nasser Agha, and the Head of the Engineers Syndicate, Engineer Malek Haj Ali, in the presence of: the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Eng. Imad Al-Ashqar; the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Dr. Abdul-Mannan Arabi; and Advisor Dr. Abdul-Rahim Abu Al-Shamat.

This memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in scientific research and the development of engineering graduates by providing training and consulting services, and to facilitate communication between the university and the syndicate in areas of mutual interest that contribute to the development of the engineering sector in Syria.

Areas of cooperation include:

Implementing training programs and workshops that contribute to developing the skills of students and engineers, in addition to organizing introductory meetings about the job market.

Supporting practical training for students and new engineers, and achieving mutual benefit from the university’s advanced laboratories.

Organizing training courses for engineers to qualify engineering personnel in line with the evolving demands of the labor market.

Strengthening cooperation in scientific research between the university and the syndicate by utilizing specialized teaching staff to provide technical consultations and prepare specialized studies.

Participating in the development of codes and guidelines, and reviewing and auditing engineering codes, comparing local and international codes, while ensuring their suitability to the nature of work in Syria.
Establishing standards and regulations for engineering work in the field of intelligent systems and systems engineering, guaranteeing international professional quality, in addition to defining the requirements for engineering plans, software programs, and hardware requirements, as well as conducting workshops in the fields of computer engineering and information technology.

The memorandum is valid for three years and will enter into force upon its signing.
