The International Private University for Science and Technology places great emphasis on the development of the educational and research process by linking academic knowledge with practical and professional applications and by providing an integrated learning environment that combines theory and practice. Below is an overview of the most prominent activities and events organized by the University during the past months, including scientific trips and visits, academic and scientific events, sports activities, official meetings, and recognition and achievements. These activities reflect the University’s continuous efforts to develop its educational and research environment.

First: Scientific Trips and Visits

In order to strengthen integration between academic curricula and practical application, the University organizes scientific trips and visits for students across its various faculties, contributing to the development of their skills and linking theoretical knowledge with professional reality. Key activities included:

  • Organization of a scientific trip by the Faculty of Business Administration for its students to the Stock Exchange in Yaafour, aimed at enhancing practical understanding of financial market mechanisms and linking theoretical concepts with real-world application.
  • Implementation of a one-month practical training course for Pharmacy students at Miamed Pharmaceutical Industries Laboratory, under the supervision of specialized experts at the laboratory’s headquarters in Rural Damascus, to enhance applied experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Organization of a scientific trip for students of the Faculty of Architectural Engineering to the Marota City Project to explore the latest urban development projects.
  • Scientific visit for students of the Computer and Informatics Engineering Department to the Technology Growth Incubator at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, University of Damascus.
  • Scientific trip for students of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences – Interior Design Department – to the BUILDEX International Exhibition for Building, Infrastructure, Municipalities, and Safety and Security Systems at the New Damascus Fairgrounds, accompanied by a group of faculty members.
  • Scientific visit for Pharmacy students to Al-Faris Pharmaceutical Laboratory, including an extensive tour of the laboratory departments and an introduction to the various stages of production, within the framework of enhancing practical skills.
  • Scientific trip for students of the Faculty of Architectural Engineering to the National Museum of Damascus to learn about Syrian cultural and architectural heritage.
  • Scientific visit for Pharmacy students to Ibn Zuhr Pharmaceutical Industries, with the participation of senior students and graduates, aimed at strengthening applied aspects in the industrial and regulatory fields.
  • Scientific visit for students of the Faculty of Informatics and Communications Engineering to the Technology Growth Incubator.
  • Organization of a field visit by the Faculty of Business Administration and Finance to the Sukkar Commercial Group, where students learned about the organizational structure and work mechanisms, with special focus on human resources, marketing, and quality control departments.
  • Scientific visit for students of the Faculty of Architectural Engineering to Fakhri Al-Baroudi House in Damascus to explore traditional architectural styles.

Second: Academic and Scientific Events and Activities

The University witnessed a wide range of academic and scientific events aimed at developing the educational process and enhancing scientific research, including:

  • Launch of a new scientific project to relocate the medicinal garden and supply it with specialized plant species to support practical curricula.

  • Organization of a specialized lecture on artificial intelligence at the Faculty of Architectural Engineering auditorium.
  • Introduction of modern medical equipment at the Faculty of Dentistry, including a digital X-ray device in the endodontic treatment clinic, as part of the plan to develop laboratories and clinics.
  • Opening of the Informatics Club at the Faculty of Informatics and Communications Engineering.
  • Organization of two workshops at the Faculty of Informatics Engineering on the professional future of communications and informatics students.
  • Implementation of training courses in microscopic endodontic treatment at the Faculty of Dentistry, targeting fifth-year students, graduates, and practicing dentists.
  • Organization of a training course for Pharmacy students in pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulatory control.
  • A scientific lecture delivered by a delegation from the Syrian Doctors and Pharmacists Association in Germany (SYGAAD) on opportunities for scientific research and medical specialization in Germany.
  • Signing of an academic, scientific, and research cooperation agreement with the Syrian Doctors and Pharmacists Association in Germany (SYGAAD).
  • Holding of general assembly meetings across the University’s faculties to discuss the work plan for the academic year.
  • Organization of an introductory lecture on private student health insurance by the Faculty of Business Administration and Finance.
  • Conducting an awareness lecture warning against the risks of Facebook and revealing hidden aspects unknown to most users.
  • Organization of a scientific seminar at the Faculty of Dentistry – Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery – on the fundamentals of dental implants, in cooperation with Al-Nashawi Dental Center.
  • Holding a scientific day at the Faculty of Dentistry to discuss endodontic treatment in the era of microscopic magnification.
  • Organization of a scientific day at the Faculty of Pharmacy entitled “Quality and Drug Safety and Their Role in Enhancing Healthcare” in cooperation with the Syrian-German Medical Association.
  • Organization of a workshop entitled “Hello Web World” by the Faculty of Informatics Engineering in cooperation with Vica Web Solutions.
  • Opening of the annual exhibitions of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (Interior Design and Graphic Design Departments) and the Faculty of Architectural Engineering.
  • Implementation of restoration and rehabilitation works for the prayer hall in Building Seven.
  • Execution of a comprehensive strategy for maintenance and modernization of the University’s infrastructure.
  • Organization of a scientific seminar on the intraoral digital scanner and its clinical applications in dentistry – Fixed Prosthodontics Department.
  • Holding initial meetings for the University’s faculties to discuss development plans and educational and research directions.
  • Convening the first meeting of the Research Ethics Committee.
  • Organization of public defense sessions for graduation projects across all faculties.
  • Organization by the Informatics Club of a workshop on documenting computer networks using MS Visio.
  • Organization of a lecture on exam anxiety at the Faculty of Dentistry auditorium by the Deanship of Student Affairs.
  • Holding a scientific day at the Faculty of Dentistry on recent advances in pediatric dentistry and mastering computerized intraosseous anesthesia.
  • Hosting University faculty members and graduates in the radio program “Ala Bisat Ahmadi” on Syrian Arab Republic Radio.
  • Organization of a joint scientific day between the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Syrian-German Medical Association entitled “Challenges and Solutions in Pharmacy and Healthcare: Syrian and German Experiences.”
  • Organization of an advanced training course in microscopic endodontic treatment at the Faculty of Dentistry.
  • Holding the Clinical Posters Competition at the Faculty of Dentistry.

Third: Sports Activities

  • Organization of a football league championship for University students.

  • Opening of a basketball court on campus.

Fourth: Official Meetings and Visits

  • Visit by a committee from the Ministry of Higher Education to separate the Faculty of Engineering and Technology into the Faculties of Informatics and Communications Engineering and Civil Engineering.
  • Visit by the Vice Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during which he inspected the laboratories and halls of the Faculty of Pharmacy, met with the University President, and discussed ways to develop the educational process.

 

Fifth: Honors and Achievements

  • Honoring the winners of the INN School Global Pharmaceutical Competition and the medical staff on the occasion of World Health Day.
  • Honoring 15 faculty members in appreciation of their efforts and contributions to the development of the educational and research process.
  • Honoring Dr. Bilal Zaarour for being listed among Stanford University’s Top Scientists in the World for 2025.
  • Holding a recognition ceremony for administrative staff who have served the University for ten years or more, in appreciation of their dedication and institutional loyalty.
  • Honoring a member of the University’s technical staff for winning the Fine Arts Award in the “Syria in Our Eyes” competition for her artwork “Time.”
  • Honoring the project “SuriSpeak” at the exhibition of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, University of Damascus.
