The Faculty of Civil Engineering Participates in the First Syrian International Engineering Conference (S.I.E.C 2025)

The Faculty of Civil Engineering participated in the activities of the First Syrian International Engineering Conference (S.I.E.C 2025), organized by the Syrian Engineering Consulting Company (HESCO) in cooperation with the Engineers Syndicate, at the National Library in Damascus from December 9 to 11, 2025. Hundreds of researchers and engineers from various governorates and disciplines attended the conference, where the latest technologies and scientific applications in various engineering fields were reviewed, with a focus on the needs of the reconstruction and rebuilding phase.

The Faculty was represented at this prominent event by its Dean, Dr. Abdul-Mannan Arabi, Dr. Mamoun Al-Samakri, and Dr. Muhammad Shablak, who chaired the sessions and served as rapporteurs on the second day of the conference. Dr. Mahmoud Ismail also participated with a lecture on “Low-Carbon Concrete: A Step Towards Sustainable Construction,” which contributed to highlighting modern trends in sustainable building technologies.

The conference also witnessed active participation from a group of the college’s students and graduates who presented scientific contributions and innovations in the field of engineering.

This participation comes within the framework of the college’s ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and communication with scientific and academic institutions, and to solidify its active role in keeping pace with engineering developments at both the local and international levels.

It is worth noting that the conference served as an important platform for unifying national efforts in the post-liberation and reconstruction phase, as it sought to strengthen the role of scientific research and innovation in supporting national infrastructure projects, and to showcase the latest engineering technologies and explore their potential application in the Syrian context.
