Enhancing Pharmacy Students’ Practical Skills Through a Visit to Al-Fares Pharmaceuticals
As part of the International University of Science and Technology’s commitment to bridging the gap between theory and practice, and its dedication to enriching students’ knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a scientific visit to Al-Fares Pharmaceuticals. The visit included Dr. Wafaa Qudsi and Dr. Miri Al-Deir, along with 24 students from the faculty.
The visit included an extensive tour of the laboratory departments, where students observed the workflow at various stages. The tour included the following stops:
First: Production Departments
Tablets Department, Capsules Department, Liquid Syrup Department, Ointments Department, Packaging Department
Second: Laboratories and Warehouses
Laboratories: Automated Laboratory, Chemical Laboratory, Microbiological Laboratory, Stability Analysis Laboratory
Warehouses:
Raw Materials Warehouse with Refrigerated Storage, Finished Products Warehouse with Refrigerated Storage, Quarantine Area, Sample Area, Fuel and Explosive Materials Warehouse
This tour provided students with a firsthand look at the pharmaceutical manufacturing process, familiarized them with production and quality control systems, and allowed them to observe the application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within the laboratory. At the end of the visit, the Deanship of the Faculty of Pharmacy extends its sincere thanks to the laboratory management, represented by Dr. Muhammad Al-Zoubi, the laboratory director, and Dr. Zeina Al-Dabaj, the quality manager, for the distinguished reception and for the comprehensive explanation they provided regarding the equipment and production and laboratory processes, which played a major role in enhancing the scientific benefit for the students.
