  • The International University for Science and Technology has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first private university in Syria to be included in the Stanford University Rankings for 2025.

The International University for Science and Technology is listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to the Stanford University and Elsevier World University Rankings, released in the second quarter of September 2025.

For the first time, research from the International University for Science and Technology, in partnership with the University of Damascus, has been selected among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to the Stanford University Rankings, in collaboration with the Elsevier World University Rankings.

This ranking is based on the global Scopus database, which studies the output and impact of researchers in various fields to select a list of the world’s best scientists after studying all researchers worldwide.

What distinguishes this achievement is that all of the research selected from our university was within applied disciplines, reflecting the qualitative development of scientific research within the university.
