Mission
The mission of the College of Engineering IUST is to prepare competent engineers equipped with high ethical standards, and committed to the application and development of science and technology for the advancement of their society. Upon the completion of any of IUST undergraduate programs in Engineering, graduates will have:
acquired a solid base of engineering knowledge, which provides advanced technical skills, and caters for professional requirements in their desired area of specialization.
practiced hands-on training that nurtured their creative thinking and capacity to apply theoretical knowledge in the process of engineering design, and in ensuring productive careers in the future.
experienced contemporary methods of teaching and learning, as well as modern techniques of assessment, research and quality assurance.
mastered a wide range of transferable skills and knowledge, including information technology, emerging technologies, independent learning, verbal and written communication, time management, presentation skills, computer literacy and teamwork.
gained thorough competence and technical skills in line with the needs of industry, and awareness of recent trends and developments in engineering, assisted by supportive staff in terms of research and consultation, and the long-standing expertise of industrialists in the teaching programmes.
developed an appreciation and understanding of the ethical, moral, and social issues related to engineering and environmental concerns.

Objectives
The general objectives of the College of Engineering may be summed up as follows:
To provide an environment conducive to high quality and intellectually challenging education that renders graduates both sensitive and responsive to the market needs and societal demands.
To offer quality, diversified, and relevant programmes of study in keeping with the pertinent validation and accreditation requirements stipulated by the professional institutions and competent local ministry/accreditation commission.
To inform students about instruments and techniques of self-learning, self-development investigation, and lifelong training and learning via the mastery of a wide range of transferable skills.
To enable students to engage in streamlined research, leading to the award of higher degrees via the support and assistance of strong industrial and economic links.
To make a significant contribution to the overall mission and concept of the engineering profession at the national and international levels.
To serve as a center of excellence in relation to engineering skills resources and expertise needed for the development and enhancement of local industry, including the provision of Continuing Professional Development and Training.
