Discussion of the graduation project of the College of Pharmacy for the year 2020-2021 entitled “Evaluation of the therapeutic efficacy of Brassica oleracea and Lactuca virosa extracts in the treatment of acne vulgaris”

Evaluation of the therapeutic efficacy of Brassica oleracea and Lactuca virosa extracts in the treatment of acne vulgaris” is a graduation project for a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy for the academic year 2020-2021 at the International Private University, supervised by Dr. Jalal Fandi and in the presence of the jury: Dr. Shawqi Al-Awdi and Dr. Mayyas Jadeed, prepared by each of the students: Farah Walid Hamed, Ahmed Ali Ballan, Aika Khaled Al-Zoubi, and Elsie Sami Al-Hames.

This study aimed to do scientific research that includes a topical application of a pharmaceutical preparation (cream) to cases of different severity of acne vulgaris disease, as it contained in its composition the alcoholic extract of two types of plants, green and violet cabbage and lettuce.

The results showed a difference in the response of the common acne eruptions by using the studied preparation with a difference in severity infection levels, where the severity of the moderate and severe cases was reduced to mild, while at the level of mild cases, the application of the cream led to the disappearance of acne eruptions completely by the end of the application period.
